Proofpoint Systems Team Awarded U.S. Navy SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) Contract

Los Altos, CA - May 30, 2008 The US Navy announced today that Proofpoint Systems has been awarded a contract under the SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) Multiple Award Contract. Proofpoint's performance support systems - first deployed in the United States Navy - are recognized as an effective self-help bridge across improvement disciplines such as Lean Manufacturing, the Baldrige Quality Program, Six Sigma, and the Balanced Scorecard. Proofpoint's systems maximize best practices from the fields of management science and performance improvement; are readily accessible via the internet; help leaders see their environment more clearly; streamline task management, tracking, and communication; optimize decision making; and support the management of projects and the tracking of key initiatives and resource investments. These applications are being employed in environments worldwide where critical requirements call for consistent analysis processes; ease of communication; and dependable, metrics-based, project management. Proofpoint's products were nominated in 2006, 2007, and 2008 as Finalists for the American Business Awards. The SeaPort-e contract is an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) vehicle established to facilitate the Navy-wide electronic procurement process. SeaPort-e leverages Navy buying power, improves business intelligence, and reduces purchasing time. SeaPort-e supports all commands within the Naval Enterprise as well as the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Included in the Naval Enterprise are the Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, Naval Supply Systems Command, Military Sealift Command, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Strategic Systems Programs, Office of Naval Research, and the United States Marine Corps.
