Proofpoint Systems was named a Finalist today in the 2008 American Business Awards for its Faculty Assessment and Contribution Planning System (FCAP).

Proofpoint Systems offers FCAP 3.1 to provide all types of educational organizations with a powerful set of performance management tools that automate day-to-day operations. Key functions include strategic alignment, collection of teaching and testing results, student satisfaction measurement, individual development planning, resource allocation, and faculty review and reward.

Developed as a modification to Proofpoint's executive-focused Goal Alignment System, FCAP was released in September 2007. The latest version offers a truly effective institution-wide method of managing and integrating the actions of faculty members and their leadership. The performance review board (PRB) module is based on a complex algorithm that allows managers to see the outcomes of different faculty rankings as they relate to the individual, the team, and the aggregate pay pool. FCAP 3.1 also includes an improved user interface based on customer feedback.

The highly prestigious American Business Awards are the only national all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business. For 2008, more than 2,600 entries were submitted for consideration across more than 40 categories, including Best Overall Company, Best New Product or Service, and new categories including Best Management Team and Best Corporate Environmental Responsibility Program. Proofpoint Systems is competing in the category of Best New Product or Service: Computer Software.

Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April through early May. Award winners will be announced on June 12 in New York City.

"ABA entries grew more than 30% this year, so being named a Finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before," said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards. "It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of national recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition."

Dr. Jim Hill, CEO of Proofpoint Systems, said, "We're very pleased about this news. In addition to the tremendous attention FCAP has received in the US federal sector, our broader suite of Organizational Performance Systems continues to gain market presence. Today, organizations in more than 40 countries are using Proofpoint's systems. Being recognized as a Finalist for the third consecutive year helps keep us focused on both doing things right and doing the right thing."
